・In the early Edo Period, the Odas moved from Iki Island to Ojika Island and engaged in various businesses, including whale hunting, the development of new fields, the promotion of new industries, marine product wholesaling, the cargo shipping business, and sake brewing. As a wealthy merchant, the Oda family contributed to the economic development of the community.
・This museum opened in 1989. To create the museum, the town of Ojika took over the 250-year-old residence of the Oda family, restored it, and added a new building to the house.
・This museum introduces the history and achievements of the Odas. Its exhibits also include archaeological artifacts from the Old Stone Age to the Modern Period, which were unearthed from remains in the town, antique ceramics and other materials related to trade with China in the Middle Ages, and materials concerning Christians on Nozaki Island.
