・This tourist information center opened in April 2014 as a base for disseminating information on “Hidden Christians Heritage Sites in Nagasaki and the Amakusa Region,” and as a general information desk for visitors.
・The Center exhibits panels introducing “Hidden Christians Heritage Sites in Nagasaki and the Amakusa Region” (including a chronological table and explanations about each component of the heritage sites), airs footage of the heritage sites, and distributes brochures, thus playing a role as a base for providing a comprehensive information service.
・Churches, which are still being used as “prayer sites,” are sometimes not open to the public or accept only a limited number of visitors due to Mass or ceremonial events, such as marriages or funerals. Visitors are kindly requested to make reservations in advance.
・The tourist information center is not only the contact point for prior announcement by visitors, but also provides information on “Hidden Christians Heritage Sites in Nagasaki and the Amakusa Region,” including access and the rules to follow at each site.
