・Hidden Christians in the Omura Domain migrated to various areas, such as Fukuejima Island, Hisakajima Island and Narushima Island. Kusuhara was one of the first places that such migrants cultivated.
・After the Roya-no-Sako martyrdom in 1868, Christians in Kusuhara were also arrested, kept in jail, and tortured. This is a valuable historical site that provides a glimpse of what the jail was like.
・In 1912, after the lifting of the ban on Christianity, Kusuhara Church, made of brick, was constructed next to the site of Kusuhara Jail.
