The letter says: “There is a padre (priest) in the area about eight or 10 leguas (1 legua is approximately 5.5 km) from here. It is shameful to visit the same places repeatedly for confession. Since the lord of this area does not know about and has never heard of Jesus, he has not become a Kirishitan. However, the lord showed a strong interest and gave two villages permission to become Kirishitans. One of these villages is Toror, where almost all the people became Kirishitans due to the mercy of Jesus.”
