・After the Kori Kuzure incident (in which about 600 Hidden Christians, mainly in the village of Kori, were arrested) in 1657, the lord of the Omura Domain ordered the destruction of all Christian graves within the territory. Fortunately, this gravestone survived.
・This is the gravestone of Tominaga Nisuke’s wife, who died in 1622. This gravestone, made of a natural stone 76 cm in height and bearing an epitaph inscribed in a combination of Japanese and Western styles, is very unusual in Japan.
