In the district of Daijogogawa, the area where the house of the medieval lord Omura (in the pre-Sanjo Castle era) and temples stood was called “Hondogawa.” However, all the temples and shrines in the area, except Hoshoji Temple, were destroyed by Christians. Today, only the names of temples and places still remain, such as Hondogawa Bridge and Chokyuji Bridge.
