Mukata Beach

Legend has it that the name “Mukata” originates from six fugitive warrior families of the Taira Clan side. In 1797, 108 people arrived at Mukata Beach as the first migrants from Omura, and they cultivated farmlands in Hirazo, Kurozo, Kusuhara, and other areas, marking the first step toward the revival of Christianity in the Goto Islands.
