This site contains the remains of Zazare Church. In Zazare Village, a church could not be built immediately after the lifting of the ban on Christianity in the Meiji Era, due to locational and environmental reasons. In 1920, a wooden church was constructed at this site, located near the mountaintop overlooking the village. In 1969, this church was closed due to its consolidation with another church. Later on, the deserted church collapsed in the wake of a typhoon.
