Statues of Fr. Marmand and Fr. Pélu were erected in 1977. In Shimogoto, where Christianity was accepted quietly, Father Marmand started to work to support orphans as the first priest residing in Shimogoto, and Father Pélu, as the successor to Father Marmand, built Dozaki Church at his own expense.
