Tsuji Shrine is one of three shrines in the village of Ono. Hidden Christians used Tsuji Shrine, to which they felt a closer affinity in the village, to pray to their own God.
Tsuji Shrine appeared in records from the period of the ban on Christianity, indicating that Hidden Christians nurtured the Christian faith at the shrine where the mountain god was enshrined.
