The residents of the village of Ono were buried in a common cemetery. Even after the ban on Christianity was lifted, however, the village headman and local officials denied those who had openly reverted to the Catholic Church the right to be buried in the common cemetery, so Christians were buried in a cemetery newly built at some distance from the village. Crosses have been excavated there.
