Obamaura is the beach where Father Petitjean landed to secretly visit Sotome by boat six months after the discovery of Hidden Christians at Oura Cathedral. Obamaura and its location were recorded as “Obamahama” on a map created in 1862. The topography of the beach remains the same as during the period of the ban on Christianity.
