1862年3月、浦上のキリシタンが大浦天主堂を訪れ、神父に信仰を告白した。250年間、潜伏しながら信仰を継承してきた日本人がいたという奇跡「信徒発見」。しかしそれは同時に、再び始まる弾圧をも意味していた。
